This list of earbuds covers a wide range of bluetooth wireless headphones which can be used by the active types who are into running and working out or are for those who are looking for the best noise cancelling earbuds or just the best bass earbuds.

I also want you to keep in mind that my preferences may not be the same as yours.

Wireless earbuds have changed the way I exercise now. Before I owned my own pair of wireless headphones, I only had the wired ones. I was always afraid that they may accidentally get yanked out by the weights or barbell when I’m exercising. It was a real fear so I ended up having to listen to the gym’s music. I’m so happy that I finally got my own pair of earbuds because I can now listen to my own music that gets me pumped when I work out. As an added benefit, I no longer have to worry about tangled wires like I did with my old regular headphones.

That being said, there are a number of factors to consider before purchasing your own wireless earbuds. These factors include battery life, charge time, design, sound quality, and weight. Factoring all these in, it’s not going to be easy to make a decision. Our top 10 list takes a look at the best wireless earbuds available, from the listening experience to how long they’ll last on one charge. And this list will help you to choose the wireless bluetooth earbuds which suit you the most.

I recommend you to read our Wireless Earbuds Buying Guide below before making a purchase.

So now without wasting any further time, let’s get right into our top 10 best wireless earbuds list.

1. Bose SoundSport Wireless Headphones – Best Wireless Earbuds for Running

Our first wireless headphone on the list is from a very reputable American company that every audiophile should know, Bose. Bose is most famous for their home audio systems and speakers, as well as their over the ear noise cancelling headphones.

The Bose SoundSport wireless headphones is one of the featured sports earbuds in Bose’s extensive product line of headphones. Here’s why:

These earbuds use Bose Active EQ technology to consistently balance out the audio at any volume, providing a high-quality audio experience.

These Bose wireless earbuds are made for running. They are designed to ensure that when you’re wearing them, whether you’re running or just strolling through the city, you have maximum comfort and stability. It also doesn’t get in your way so you don’t have to worry about being distracted by them during your run or workout.

The SoundSport earbuds are also sweat and water resistant so you don’t have to worry about your sweat getting into the headphones and damaging them. This makes it another good reason for them to be used for running.

Another great thing about these headphones is its quick charge capability for those who forget to fully charge them. Quick charging these earbuds for only 15 minutes lets you get an extra hour of battery life, which is amazing! This is great if you’re looking to extend your battery life for the rest of the day.

The Bose SoundSport also has a companion smartphone app so that you can personalize your listening experience. You can adjust the sound level to the way you want it. You can also use the app to easily manage and switch between the different devices you have the earbuds connected to, which includes your phone and computer!

These earbuds are built really nice but I feel like they would be better for running or biking and not so good for workouts at the gym that requires laying down, such as on a bench, or bending around machines. It feels like they can get caught on to things by accident.

Overall, the Bose SoundSport wireless earbuds are great. The quick charge feature is really useful and has an app to connect to them to customize the sound is another plus. These are definitely recommended for runners.

Pros
  • Quick charge 15 minutes = 1 hour of play
  • Weather and sweat resistant
  • Surprisingly good bass for an in ear headphone
  • Comes with an app to that can read your pulse which is great for monitoring heart rate
Cons
  • The earbuds can feel clunky but shouldn’t affect usage when running

2. Jaybird X3 Sport Bluetooth Headphones – Best Wireless Headphones for Working Out

The next pair of earbuds on our list are from another American company based in Salt Lake City in the state of Utah. The company is called Jaybird, which was acquired by the gaming hardware company Logitech. Jaybird was listed as one of the top companies for premium headphones. The Jaybird X3 Sport bluetooth headphones do live up to the company’s reputation and are one of their most comfortable earbuds.

The design is very minimal and sleek, which gives it a luxurious look to it. You also have the option to wear the headphones in ear or over the ear, depending on your preference. I think this flexibility makes these earphones one of the most adaptive wireless earbuds on the market right now.

Jaybird also uses hydrophobic nano-coating to ensure the earbuds are safeguarded against sweat and rain, even during workouts. So even on a rainy day, there’s no need to worry about damaging these headphones!

Like the Bose SoundSport, the Jaybird X3 also has a companion app to customize your sound profile using the Jaybird MySound app. The great thing about the companion app is that it comes with preloaded equalizer presets so you can choose your sound setting base on your preference. Of course, you can still manually adjust it based on your preference.

The sound quality on the Jaybird X3 is great. I haven’t had to adjust the equalizer on the app and have kept my default settings.

The Jaybird X3 battery life is up to 8 hours, which should be good to last a full day of work. If it doesn’t, these headphones also have a quick charge feature. The only downside is that charging requires a special adapter. If you’re planning to use these headphones all day, one of my suggestion is to bring the charging cable with you.

I use these for strength training on the squat rack and on the bench press. At first, I thought it would get caught on the bar but I think I was just being paranoid. They stay in my ear and I don’t notice them when I’m exercising.

Overall, I think the Jaybird X3 headphones are the best wireless earbuds for working out. They feel great in my ear and the sound quality is amazing and very stable.

Pros
  • 20 minute quick charge = 1 hour play time
  • 200 hours standby time
  • Comes with an app to personalize your listening experience
Cons
  • You have to use a special Jaybird X3 charger adapter
  • The Jaybird X3 mic may not pick up your voice in a windy area

3. Phaiser BHS-730 – Best Sport Earbuds

The third pair of wireless earbuds are ones I consider the best sport earbuds. They’re made by a Swiss company called Phaiser. I’m a big fan of another Swiss company called Victorniox, who are manufacturers of the Swiss Army Knives, so I’m a big fan of any product from Switzerland! The headphones we’re going to talk about are the Phaiser BHS-730.

These sports earbuds look amazing with their metallic design and have a very premium look to it. They’re not completely wireless earbuds but with its magnetic design, it’s even better. It makes it easier to put away and not lose them because the earbuds connect together at the metal tip.

The Phaiser earbuds have HD sound, combining 8mm speakers and Bluetooth 4.1 to create an amazing sound and powerful bass! The earbuds also include memory foam ear tips to provide total isolation from outside sounds. This is really good if you’re looking to get in the zone when you’re being active.

Like the previous few wireless earbuds, the Phaiser BHS-730 are sweat proof. The wireless headphones have Liquipel Nano Coating which can withstand sweat and water. Phaiser believes in it so much that they over a lifetime sweatproof warranty! This means you’ll never have to worry about accidental water damage or your sweat getting into the headphones.

These sport earbuds also come with the option to wear them in ear or over the ear and provide winged earphone tips to secure the fit in your ear.

The battery life on these earbuds should last longer. It reaches around 6 hours for me (which is great) but I have an 8-hour shift daily so it’ll be nice if it lasted the entire workday.

Overall, the Phaiser BHS-730 is a great pair of headphones and I think one of the best sports earbuds. I think having the magnetic design is very unique and very useful because most headphone wires can get tangled up and end up everywhere. This feature plus the sound quality definitely makes it a great pair of wireless earbuds for people who do sports or anyone who wants to use them casually. Also, the price is really good for these headphones.

Pros
  • The mic sound is clear on both ends of a phone call
  • Charging is quick
  • The magnets holding the earbuds together is a great feature
Cons
  • The cord is quite long so there’s extra slack when the earbuds are on

4. Bose Quietcontrol 30 Wireless Headphones – Noise Cancelling Headphones

The fourth pair on the list is another pair of wireless headphones from Bose. The Bose Quietcontrol 30 are noise cancelling headphones, emphasis on the noise cancelling.

These Bose headphones have the technology to allow you to control the level of noise cancellation. This can be great depending on the area you’re in. Whether you’re going to be on a long flight or if your surroundings get too loud and you need to focus on what your work, turning up the noise cancellation is a great feature for those situations.

The headphones are a bit different than the rest of the wireless earbuds on this list because it’s the only one uses a neckband design. It’s meant to conform to a person’s body so that it’s comfortable to wear. I think after a few moments of putting them on, you’ll probably not feel them anymore or even think about it.

The sound on these earbuds is great, as expected from any Bose headphones. They also have up to 10 hours of battery life which is amazing and lasts an entire day. This is very impressive since I assume that the noise cancellation feature requires using the battery to function and end up using more battery.

The unique thing about the Bose Quietcontrol 30 is that it comes with dual microphones. The reason there are more than one is because it uses the Bose noise rejection system to keep calls clear even when it gets windy or if it gets too noisy around you. I think Bose is one of the few headphone companies that care about sound received and sound output because almost all headphones with a mic only include a basic one. It goes to show how much detail and research Bose puts into their products.

The design is a bit weird as it looks like a choke collar. Also, the “collar” may not fit all neck sizes.

Overall, in terms of design, the Bose Quietcontrol 30 don’t look like true wireless earbuds because of the collar. However, I think the noise cancelling feature and noise rejection system makes up for it!

Pros
  • Comfortable in ear buds
  • Great battery life
  • Noise cancelling is really great for shutting out background noises
Cons
  • Charging port requires peeling a piece back to insert the charging plug, not a total deal breaker

5. Beats Powerbeats3 Wireless In-Ear Headphones – Best Bass Earbuds

I’m excited to talk about these next pair of earbuds. They’re the Powerbeats 3 by Beats, now an Apple company. I think they’re one of the best bass earbuds out there right now.

These wireless earbuds beats most of the competition right now in battery life with a whopping 12 hours of battery on a single charge! These are definitely long lasting wireless earbuds! They also have a super fast 5 minute quick charge for 1 hour of playback time. No other headphones can last as long as these Beats can. This is the best pair of wireless earbuds if you’re looking for your music to last you an entire day.

The Beats headphones have an interesting design where it’s a mix of over the ear and in-ear so that the earbuds stay in place. They are also quite comfortable and comes with different size ear tips so you can use the ones that are best shaped for your ears.

Beats are known for their bass and the Powerbeats 3 holds up to expectations. The sound on these are great and once again, the bass delivers. These are a definite key feature for those who enjoy a lot bass with their music.

These Powerbeats earbuds can also be used for exercising because they are also sweat and water resistant so you can go through your workout without worrying about sweating in your Beats!

If you’re using an iPhone or Apple device, Apple has made their devices easy to pair with any Beats bluetooth headphones. It’s a simple process has an advantage over other wireless bluetooth earbuds because those require going through the settings to connect and pair the headphones to the device.

It’s not a major upgrade over the Powerbeats2 Wireless.

Overall, the Powerbeats3 provides one of the best bass earbuds on the market at an affordable price. The quick charge and long battery life is already a huge advantage over other wireless earbuds! These are definitely great for people who spend a lot of their day using headphones.

Pros
  • Great bass
  • 5-minute charge gives you 1 hour of playback
  • Amazing battery life
Cons
  • The case that it comes with is cheap looking

6. JLab Audio Epic2 – Best Bluetooth Headphones Under $100

The next pair of bluetooth headphones on our list are from a Californian company called JLab Audio, which was originally founded in Arizona in 2005. The company is most known for the JLab Audio Epic2 Bluetooth Sport Wireless Earbuds, which are the ones that we’re about to talk more about!

These earbuds are on par with the Powerbeats3 in terms of battery life. Most battery life for wireless earbuds usually only last between 6-8 hours but these Epic2 earbuds have nearly double the average battery life of other earphones and lasting for 12 hours on 1 full charge!

JLab really spent the time to focus on the sound by improving their Bluetooth signal using Beacon Signal Technology. Using this technology to ensure crystal clear clarity sounds when playing music without dropping or skipping in connection. They also focus on making their bass heard through their headphones by using 8mm drivers.

The JLab earbuds are also fitness proof so if you want to use these during your workout, there’s no need to worry about damaging them with your sweat while wearing them. These earbuds have a water resistant rating of IPX5.

The JLab Audio Epic2 has a nice design to it. I think the most useful feature are the adjustable straps for the connecting wire of the earbuds. You can shorten it or lengthen it. I prefer a shorter wire so there’s less slack and doesn’t get in my way when I’m exercising.

Another thing I like about these wireless headphones is they come with a lot of different ear tips. I think JLab really wants to make sure we find the perfect fit for our ears. The Epic2 comes with 8 different sized ear tips and they come in different shapes as well.

You can only wear the JLab Epic2 over the ear. I prefer in ear using ear hooks because it’s more comfortable and doesn’t weigh on my ear. This matters more for me when I’m exercising because I don’t want to accidentally pull the earbuds out.

Overall, the JLab Audio Epic2 are definitely one of the best bluetooth headphones under $100. Once again the Epic2 has great sound, are comfortable, and have an extraordinary battery life. It is definitely a good pair of earbuds!

Pros
  • Amazing battery life
  • Great sound quality
Cons
  • Random battery level announcements

7. Jaybird X2 Sport Wireless Bluetooth Headphones – Top Wireless Earbuds

The next pair of earbuds on our list is another one from Jaybird. The Jaybird X3 are already on the list, so you’re probably wondering why the Jaybird X2 are as well. The answer is because although the X3 is the latest the model, the X2 still performs just as well as the X3 but they cost much less than the latest version of the Jaybird earbuds.

The Jaybird X2 has a very minimal design and like the Jaybird X3, you can choose to wear them in ear or over the ear. Also, the charging port is on the earbuds and requires no special charging adapter like the Jaybird X3. They come with “ear fins” so that you can keep the earbuds in place in case you’re doing a lot of moving such as running or exercising.

The sound on these Jaybird earbuds are great and you can also hear the bass. They come with foam ear tips as well to provide noise cancellation and comfort.

The earbuds also come with a remote control built into the wire which usually leans more to one side depending on how you wear them.

The Jaybird’s are also sweat proof so you don’t need to worry about training and sweating all over these headphones. The company also believes in their 100% sweat proof guarantee so much so that they offer a lifetime sweat proof warranty!

These earbuds also come with 8 hours of playtime with 1 full charge. As I mentioned earlier, charging these headphones are very convenient because you can just plug in a regular micro usb charger and you’re good to go, no additional adapter necessary.

The case that it comes with is poorly designed and makes it difficult to use but other than that the Jaybird X2 are a solid choice for a good pair of wireless earbuds.

Overall, I think the Jaybird X2 are one of the best wireless earbuds for iPhone or Android. If you’re for a pair of wireless earbuds that will last you a long time, the Jaybird X2 is definitely one of the most recommended. Which is also why this is TRVNK’s pick for the best wireless earbuds for 2017!

Pros
  • Amazing sound quality
  • No lost in connection
  • Great noise cancellation
Cons
  • None

8. SoundPEATS Bluetooth Headphones Wireless Earbuds – Best Budget Bluetooth Headphones

The eighth pair of wireless earbuds is the SoundPEATS. A lot can be said about these headphones and one thing is for certain, they’re definitely built for sports and running. The SoundPEATS are also one of the least expensive wireless earbuds you can buy. Don’t let the low price fool you into thinking they’re not high quality.

The design is great and very sleek with a metallic look. I really like that it also has a magnetized design like the Phaiser BHS-730. I think it’s very convenient to easily hang them around my neck when I’m not using them. Also, it helps with preventing tangles on the wire, even though the headphone’s wire isn’t that long.

These earbuds are also very lightweight and are great for running or exercising. It’s so light that you won’t feel them at all when you’re working out.

Also, don’t worry about sweating in these. These wireless bluetooth headphones are sweat proof and are coated with Liquipel Nano. This makes working out in these no problem, especially if you tend to sweat! They have an IPX4 water resistance rating.

The earbuds come with three pairs of different size ear tips and ear hooks. Unlike the Jaybird winged ear hooks, the ones on SoundPEATS are a more minimalist approach to keeping the earbuds in your ear.

The SoundPEATS can last up to 6 hours on one full charge which seems about the standard for most wireless headphones.

SoundPEATS uses CVC 6.0 noise cancellation technology to handle any unwanted outside noises and has incredible sound quality. You can hear the deep bass and clear treble on the earbuds.

The range on these headphones seems to be very short. If you get too far away from the device you connect it to, it may disconnect.

Overall, I think the SoundPEATS are one of the best budget bluetooth headphones on the market right now. These earbuds have great sound and a lot of the same features you’ll find in other bluetooth earbuds. The magnetized design is also a huge plus for me.

Pros
  • Earbuds fit well
  • Amazing sound quality
  • Really good price
Cons
  • A bit bulky

9. Anker SoundBuds NB10 – Best Affordable Headphones

Keeping up with affordable earbuds, the next pair of headphones on our list are from a Chinese tech company called Anker. Anker is most known for their power banks and portable battery chargers for smartphones. It’s quite surprising to know that they also create headphones too!

The design of the Anker SoundBuds is a bit bulkier than all the other earbuds I’ve listed so far. The earpiece is much bigger but the reason for that is because the controls for the earbuds are on the earpiece. This makes the wire much less bulky, which is what I prefer on wireless earbuds. That being said, it’s no surprise that the headphones come with an adjustable strap to tighten or loosen the headphones while you’re wearing them.

Another thing about the bulkier pieces is that it’s also used as a way to reduce outside noises and enhance the sound quality of the music you’re listening to. They also use CVC 6.0 noise cancellation for clear sounds when listening to music or on a call.

The headphones come with 3 pairs of ear tips in different sizes so you can use the one that best fits your ears for maximum comfort.

The Anker SoundBuds NB10 are also sweatproof and has a water resistance rating of IPX5. So if you’re a very active person who enjoys listening to music while sweating, these earbuds are definitely a pair to consider.

These Anker headphones can last up to 6 hours on one charge, which again, seems to be standard for most wireless earbuds. They also come ready to pair with the latest iPhones or Android devices.

The controls are in an interesting position where it’s right next to the ear. It does feel it bit awkward when trying to skip to the next song because it looks like I’m a secret agent awaiting orders.

Overall, the Anker SoundBuds NB10 are definitely one of the best affordable headphones out there. It has all the features of a more premium headset such as having noise cancellation and being sweatproof but comes at a much lower price than the other wireless earbuds on the market.

Pros
  • Comfortable in ear
  • Waterproof
  • No rubber ear tips required
Cons
  • Sound is a bit low and no bass

10. TaoTronics Bluetooth In Ear Headphones – Best Bluetooth Headphones Under $50

The last pair of headphones on our list are the TaoTronics bluetooth in ear headphones. These earbuds are surprisingly one of the most underrated wireless headphones out there. They’re also considered one of the best bluetooth headphones under $50.

First, let’s talk about their design. The TaoTronics looks amazing even though they currently only come in black but the black looks very premium. They also have a magnetic design where the earbuds are magnetized so you can stick them together when you’re not wearing them. You can even choose to wear it around your neck like a necklace when you’re not using your earbuds.

They only come with 2 pairs of ear hooks and ear tips. For me, it’s not a big problem because the smallest ear tips usually fit me but for other people that may have slightly bigger ears and different ear shape, they may need more options.

The earbuds use AptX technology to improve the sound quality so when you listen to music, it’s as good as CD quality sounds. And with the earbuds’ battery lasting up to 7 hours on 1 charge, you can enjoy listening to your music even longer.

For those of you who have an active lifestyle where you’re constantly on the go or in situations where you end up sweating, the TaoTronics earbuds are sweat proof. They have a water resistance rating of IPX5. So whatever physical activity you’re doing, you don’t need to worry about sweating into these wireless earbuds!

The TaoTronics uses Bluetooth 4.1 for easy pairing with your iPhone or Android device so you can enjoy listening to music without static and skipping. Also, these earbuds have a built-in ceramic antenna to improve call qualities and prevent the signal from dropping!

The mic is very sensitive, and the person I was talking to could hear the TV in the background.

That being said, the TaoTronics are one of the best wireless earbuds under $50. They sound great, have a magnetic design, are sweatproof, have good battery life, and everything else that a good pair of wireless earbuds should have. These are definitely recommended. The bottom line? These are one of the best wireless earbuds you can find under $50.

Pros
  • Magnetic
  • Sounds good and you can hear the bass
  • Fits well in ear
Cons
  • Battery life is a little less than they claim

Wireless Earbuds Buyer’s Guide

Wireless Earbuds

There are so many good wireless earbuds out there!

It can definitely be hard to decide which earbuds to buy. So, I created this wireless earbud buying guide to highlight all the features you should pay attention to for when you’re looking to finally buy your own pair or wireless headphones.

Here are a few things to consider before buying your own pair of wireless earbuds:

  • Battery Life – This is one of the most important features to pay attention to because not all wireless earbuds come with standard micro-usb charging cables. Some may have special ones for charging (like the Jaybird x3). Expect most earbuds to have about 6 hours of battery life. Any longer and it’s a definite plus!
  • Charge Time – This isn’t a big issue for me as I usually charge my headphones when I get home but if you plan to use your wireless headphone at home, be sure to look for a pair of earbuds with quick charge (The Powerbeats 3 full charge time is only 5 minutes to charge 1 hour of play time)!
  • Weight – I think if you’re looking to find the best wireless earbuds for running, I would consider the weight. Otherwise, the weight of a pair of wireless earbuds haven’t been a big issue for me as I have only used them for walking and non-cardio workouts.
  • Quick Pairing – Turning on your pair of wireless earbuds from start to playing music should take no more than 5 seconds and I think that’s a standard amongst all wireless earbuds.
  • Clear Sound and Calls – If you’re listening to music and it cuts out every now and then, that’s already a problem. It should be standard for bluetooth headphones to have no connection issues. If it happens to a pair of earbuds you purchase, you should reach out to the retailer for an exchange. I also believe call quality is important because, for most people, our music player is also our phone. If I can’t make a clear call with my wireless earphones then I have to manually hold the phone to my ear. I know, it’s a first world problem but if an earbud says it’s for music and calls, it should be. For those who plan to only use the earbuds for music, then you don’t need to worry too much about this.
  • Bluetooth Range – This is not a problem for me as I usually have my smartphone in my pocket when using my wireless bluetooth earbuds. The only time I can see an issue arising is if I have them on at home and leave my phone in my room when I’m in the kitchen.
